The final Roadrunners' threat came in the ninth when Kyle Desimone (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Stockdale HS) walked with one out. Pinch hitter Cael Brockmeyer (Fr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) came up next and reached on an error, moving Desimone to second. Chris Curtis (Jr., Vacaville, Calif., Solano CC), who entered the game in the third as a subsitute for Ryan McIntyre (Jr., Henderson, Nev., Coronado HS) in rightfield, struck out against Dons' closer Jordan Remer. Jeremy Rodriguez (Jr., Thousand Oaks, Calif., Crespi HS) struck out to end the game.

Eigh USF pitchers combined for 16 strikeouts and limited the Roadrunners to five hits (Sanay had two).
