Montoya Improves To 5-1; CSUB Defeats SCU 10-2

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--Junior lefty Jonathan Montoya (Jr., Chino Hills, Calif., Chino Hills HS) improved to 5-1 on the year as CSUB (19-7) defeated Santa Clara (12-12) 10-2 Apr. 2 at Stephen Schott Stadium. Montoya posted his fourth complete game of the year as he struck out four while only walking one batter. Montoya scattered seven hits.

The Roadrunners pounded out 18 hits, led by Ryan McIntyre (Jr., Henderson, Nev., Coronado HS) who went 4-for-6 with three runs scored. Oscar Sanay (Fr., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS) went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI's. Jeremy Rodriguez (Jr., Thousand Oaks, Calif., Crespi HS) was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Andrew Letourneau (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College) drove in three runs. DC Legg (Jr., Murrietta, Calif., Cypress College), and Stuart Smith (R-So., Ventura, Calif., Buena HS) both posted two hits. Martin Medina (Jr., Ventura, Calif., St. Bonaventure HS) had three two RBI's.

The series between CSUB and Santa Clara concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
