LONG BEACH, Calif. — Luka Leskur and Matt Parsonage each earned a top 10 finish in their respective events Friday, leading the CSUB men's swim team to another successful day at the Toshiba Classic Friday.
Leskur swam a season best 50.87 in the finals of the 100 back, placing sixth overall, while Parsonage placed ninth in the 100 fly in a season-best 49.66. Dan Wickensheimer and Malcolm Reid also turned in season-best times in the 100 fly finals, touching the wall in 50.60 and 51.86, respectively.
Parsonage also reached the finals in the 100 breast, earning a season-best time of 57.21 for a 17th-place finish to complete what Head Coach Chris Hansen called a very “hard double.”
Freshman Jake Priest placed 17th in the 400 IM in a time of 4:04.68, Chad McKenzie was 14th in the 100 breast in 57.49 and Keenan Natyzak was 19th in the 200 free in 1:41.76.
“We definitely stepped up to the plate again today,” said Hansen. “We're scoring points, getting lots of people into the finals and I couldn't be more excited about our performances.”
The Roadrunner relay teams also had another solid day. Leskur, McKenzie, Wickensheimer and Parsonage placed sixth in the 200 medley relay in 1:34.20, while McKenzie, Natyzak, Kevin Miller and Priest were ninth in the 800 free relay in 6:59.62.
