Biography
LBCC: Malcolm Reid was named the swim team’s MVP in 2007 after leading the team on a successful postseason run...won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.40 at the South Coast Conference Championships...also a member of the first place 200 freestyle (1:27.35) and 400 freestyle (3:10.95) relay teams...his marks helped the Vikings place third at the SCC Championships...LBCC went on to place fifth place at the 2007 California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Swimming and Diving Championships...Reid placed 14th in the 200 IM (2:01.58), 10th in the 100 butterfly (52.73) and 8th in the 200 butterfly (1:58.76).
MILIKAN HS: Reid competed in swimming and water polo at Milikan High School in Long Beach...was the swim team’s MVP his senior year...also named Milikan High School’s Dual Sport Athlete of the Year in 2004-05...earned the frosh-soph swim team’s MVP award as a freshman, leading the Rams to the Moore League championship...collected 242 saves as the Rams goalie on the water polo team in 2004...named a 2005 U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete.
PERSONAL: Reid will major in physical education and kinesiology at CSUB...parents are Marlon Reid and Stephanie Grass...competes in paddleboard racing.
