Quotes from Director of Swimming Chris Hansen
  • "What a great first day for Vili Sivec, finishing 7th as a freshman, not to mention he has been racing for two weeks straight."
  • "Besides Vili's 500, we had three men drop some big times in the prelims! Having four men under 4:35 is a great way to finish the season."
  • "Antonio Milin and Yigit Saglam finishing 3 and 5 in the 50 fly scored us big points. With the field of teams that are in attendance, having two swimmers in the final is great!"
  • "Chelanie van der Westhuizen was the sole women's scorer today with an 18th place in the 50 breast."
Men's Top Performers
  • The `Runner men sit in the Top 10 of 41 teams. Bakersfield's ninth-place standing has them ahead of programs like Grand Canyon, BYU, and Purdue while trailing close behind squads from Ohio State, TCU, Tennessee, and MPSF rival UC San Diego.
  • Freshman Vili Sivec continued his impressive series of swims, breaking into the CSUB Top 5 in the 500 free (4:23.47) before placing seventh in the A-finals.
  • Arthur Schneider (4:31.41), Adrian Paseta (4:33.30), and Jacob Folsom (4:33.37) all posted personal best times in the 500 free as well.
  • Antonio Milin and Yigit Saglam combined to both finish in the Top 5 at the NICs in the 50 fly. Milin posted an A-finals time of 21.18 to earn bronze while Saglam placed fifth with a 21.30 in the finals.
  • Milin kept busy throughout the meet, also placing sixth overall in the 50 free with a best time of 20.11 on the day.
  • The men's 200 free relay of Milin, Sivec, Tim Engel, and Saglam scored points by placing 19th.
