Sellout Looming for Free Kickin' It with Behavioral Health Game

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Kern County Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (KernBHRS) and Your Drug Store will be sponsoring free admission to the public for the Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer match against the University of San Francisco on Sunday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. This collaboration is part of the Fourth Annual Kickin' It with Behavioral Health event. As of Thursday morning, over 1,000 free tickets had already been claimed as a potential sellout looms.

"Mental health is something that touches all of us, whether through our own experiences or someone we care about," said KernBHRS Director Alison Burrowes. "Events like this give us an opportunity to bring people together, have conversations about mental health, and continue breaking down the stigma that can keep people from reaching out for help. We want our community to know that it's okay to talk about mental health, it's okay to ask for support, and help is available when you need it."

For the fourth consecutive year, KernBHRS is providing an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a night with their families, and learn more about mental health and the resources available throughout Kern County. To reserve your free tickets, visit GoRunners.com/FREE.

"Kickin' It with Behavioral Health has become a meaningful tradition for CSUB Athletics and the Kern County community," said Drew Gwerder, Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement. " CSUB Athletics is proud to partner with KernBHRS for the fourth consecutive year, using our platforms to bring our community together and shine a light on the importance of behavioral health and the resources available to support those throughout Kern County. We invite everyone to join us for a fun night of soccer, to connect with local organizations, and to be part of an event supporting a cause that touches so many lives."

Fans in attendance will receive a variety of free giveaways while supplies last. Throughout the evening, there will be messages about Behavioral Health and the KernBHRS Early Psychosis program.
