What to bring- incoming freshmen/transfer students must provide a copy of signed intent to enroll or class schedule. Current CSU Bakersfield student provide copy of class schedule for fall.
Approved Attire - plain white t-shirt, solid black or blue shorts (tights are acceptable) and cheer shoes.
Hair is to be 1/2 up & 1/2 half down with white ribbon (will be provided at clinic).
Makeup is to be minimal and face sticker ( will be provided at clinic)
*Athletes wearing unacceptable attire will be asked to change or will not be allowed to tryout
Candidates are reminded that appearance is a part of the selection process. As a public figure for the university, it is an expectation for all members to maintain well kept and consistent appearance throughout the season.
Candidates will be placed in tryout groups according to audition number as selected during audition clinic.
Interview- Will take place during group tryouts and asked by judging panel.
Video Tryouts - Video submissions will be reviewed at the conclusion of in-person tryouts. Videos must be received by Saturday, May 3rd at 9:30am.
Requirements for videos are as follows
- No edits
- Demonstrate requirements as outlined via videos provided
- Tape a personal statement
- Introduce yourself
- Team trying out for
- Answer to question " What would making the CSU Bakersfield (insert team) mean to you?"

Candidates will be evaluated in the following area.
- Physical appearance in the Rowdy outfit
- Performance /Crowd Engagement to Fight Song
- Reactions to game day situations
- Incorporation of game day props
Team announcement and meeting - Selected members will be contacted via phone call on Saturday, May 3rd. Candidates are ask to provide contact information that they will have access to on that day. Following team confirmation, members from all spirit squad teams will meet at the Icardo Center. Time will shared during confirmation call with head coach.
