Details Announced for CSUB Hot Stove Dinner

Registration for the 10th annual CSUB Hot Stove Dinner is now open as full details for the event, including the guest speaker, have been announced.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield has announced new details about the 10th annual Hot Stove Dinner, including the guest speaker. The Roadrunner Baseball team and CSUB Athletics invite the community to join us at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, as we celebrate this year's team, historical successes, and the future CSUB Baseball.

Helping the `Runners ring in a new year of ball will be former Major League Baseball pitcher Al "Ace" Downing. A 17-year veteran of the game who boasts a career ERA of 3.22, Downing played for multiple teams from 1961-1977, including a seven-year stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Downing was an All Star in 1967 and he was named the 1971 Comeback Player of the Year, winning 20 games for the Dodgers. "Ace" played against some of the all-time greats of Major League Baseball during his career and he was on the mound when Hank Aaron smacked his famous 715th home run in 1974.

The annual Hot Stove Dinner is an exciting evening that features a social hour with appetizers, an open bar, and a silent auction, followed by a delicious meal made by Chef Lino, a live auction, and special insight from our guest speaker. All proceeds will benefit the CSUB Baseball program.

Individual tickets and full table sponsorships for the 10th annual Hot Stove Dinner are available. Registration is required to attend and RSVPs must be submitted no later than Jan. 8, 2025. General Admission is set at $200 while a 9-person table can be purchased for $2,500.
