BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2025 Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined excellence in athletics and academics. Cal State Bakersfield is proud to announce that two Roadrunner baseball scholar-athletes earned this prestigious honor on Tuesday.
Nick Mascaro and Brock Perreira excelled both on the field and in the classroom.
Mascaro, a redshirt junior, held an impressive 3.54 GPA while delivering a standout season. He played in all 56 games and led the Roadrunners in batting average (.298), home runs (7), hits (62), total bases (97), doubles (13), and extra-base hits (21). His performance earned him All-Big West Honorable Mention honors for the first time in his career.
Brock Perreira also shined academically, maintaining a 3.80 GPA. On the field, he was a key contributor to CSUB's success, leading the team with 32 RBIs. Starting in 50 of the team's 56 games, Perreira collected 49 hits and 14 extra-base hits throughout the season.
Academic All-District and All-America
Nominated student-athletes must meet the minimum athletic requirements of being a starter or important reserve. Academically, candidates must maintain at least a 3.50 GPA and they must have been at their current institution for at least a year (an exception is made for graduate transfers).
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in the coming weeks.
