Nick Mascaro Earns Conference Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West Conference announced its annual major awards on Tuesday afternoon, and Cal State Bakersfield's redshirt junior outfielder, Nick Mascaro, earned Honorable Mention for the 2025 All-Big West honors.

After redshirting during the 2024 season, Nick Mascaro returned to the field in 2025 and made an immediate impact. Starting 54 of 56 games for the Roadrunners, the redshirt junior outfielder led the team in several key offensive categories. He posted a .298 batting average with a team-best 62 hits, 13 doubles, and 7 home runs, while driving in 26 runs and scoring 33 times. Mascaro’s offensive consistency was reflected in his .471 slugging percentage and .399 on-base percentage, underscoring his ability to deliver both power and production in crucial moments.

A defining highlight of Mascaro’s season came on March 8 against UC San Diego, when he blasted two home runs—including a three-run shot that helped propel CSUB to a commanding 10–3 victory. His two-homer performance tied a CSUB Division I record for most home runs in a single game, joining a short list of Roadrunners to accomplish the feat, including current standout Evan Cloyd. That historic showing further solidified Mascaro’s place in the program’s record books and was a key part of his season-long success.

In addition to his power at the plate, Mascaro demonstrated exceptional consistency by reaching base safely in 30 consecutive games—the third-longest streak in CSUB history. His steady performance throughout the season provided much-needed leadership and offensive firepower for the Roadrunners.

Mascaro’s all-around contributions and impact did not go unnoticed, earning him Honorable Mention recognition on the 2025 All-Big West Team. As one of the most dependable and productive players on the roster, his breakout season marked a high point in his collegiate career and positioned him as a key leader for the program moving forward.
