IRVINE, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield swimmer Vili Sivec was voted The Big West's Male Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season on Christmas Eve. The Roadrunners have now earned Athlete of the Week honors a total of seven times with Sivec garnering slightly more than half of those awards, including twice in the month of December.

Sivec was dominant across a pair of Big West duals this week, collecting seven total victories.

On Wednesday against UC Santa Barbara, Sivec won the 200 Fly (1:49.28; a 3-second victory), 100 Fly (48.91), and 100 Free (45.52). As if he used Wednesday as a warmup, Sivec shaved time off all three events on Saturday against UC San Diego, posting three more individual victories (1:47.35; a 4-second victory / 48.44 / 45.18).

The junior closed out a busy weekend by leading CSUB's 400 Free Relay team to a win, posting a 45.33 leadoff leg.

The `Runners will continue the 2024-25 season in the New Year when CSUB heads to San Luis Obispo, Calif. to face fellow Big West member Cal Poly in a dual.
