BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Cal State Bakersfield Director of Swimming & Diving Eric Bugby has announced the upcoming Roadrunner Swimming & Diving schedules for the 2025-26 season as the teams looks forward to another successful season. This upcoming season CSUB will compete in two invitationals and five duals. The schedule will prepare the squad for the postseason, as the end goal for the year is the Big West Championships and NCAA Championships. Â
Â
CSUB will start the year at the Hillman Aquatic Complex, where they will host the Blue-Gold Meet and the Alumni Meet on Oct. 4 & 25. After duals with Pacific, Fresno State, and Fresno Pacific, they will head to the Northwest Invitational. This midseason meet is vitally important to the team's year as they get prepared for postseason, doing so at the Northwest Invitational for the first time.Â
Â
"My reason for changing midseason was to stay on the West Coast and to make finals. Boise has the potential for both." said Bugby. "It also allows our team to enjoy their Thanksgiving break as well as begin our championship phase sooner in the season."Â
Â
Bugby is heading into his first season as the Director of Swimming and discussed the strategy behind the schedule: "The meet schedule has to match the training plan so we've made a few adjustments to accommodate our different cycles especially when I want them at their best in January and February."Â
Â
After the late-November trip to Boise, CSUB will have duals with Seattle U, Cal Baptist, and UC Santa Cruz before the team heads into the Big West Championships. Â
Â
Bugby talked about the extensive travel the team has planned and his expectations for how his squads will adapt to new environments heading into the Big West Championships: "Most swimmers and divers are used to traveling all over the country for meets. They can adapt to their environment fairly quickly. I think we're all excited to see how the season unfolds and where we can continue to make improvements." Â
Â
The Women's NCAA Championships meet will be hosted in Atlanta from Mar. 18-21, while the Men's National Championships will be held Mar. 25-28. Bugby will also be looking to send some `Runners to the National Invitational Championships as well. Â
