Sivec Picks Up Third Career MPSF Weekly Honor

IRVINE, Calif. – For the first time this season and third time in his young career at Cal State Bakersfield, Olympic hopeful swimmer Vili Sivec earned MPSF Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday. Sivec holds the current fastest 100 Fly time (48.71) in the MPSF this season.

On the way to helping Cal State Bakersfield take its first men's dual win of the season against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, the reigning MPSF Freshman of the Year earned two individual victories. He posted a 100 Fly time of 49.02 while also swimming the 200 Fly in 1:47.67, which placed him as the 44th-fastest 200 Fly time in the nation.
