Bakersfield, CA-  The Cal State Bakersfield Cheerleading team name Lydia Perez it's Athlete of the Month for October 2022. A sophomore from Oakland, Lydia is majoring in Communications. A second-year member of the cheerleading team, Lydia is on track to obtain his degree during the spring of 2024.

Q. What does it mean to be voted Athlete of the Month by your teammates? 
A. It means a lot because I know all the hard work I've invested both in and outside of practice. Knowing my teammates recognize my work really means a lot.
