Bakersfield, CA-  The Cal State Bakersfield Cheerleading team name Breanna Contreras it's Athlete of the Month for November 2022. A Freshman from Bakersfield, Breanna  (Bre) is majoring in Nursing. A first-year member of the cheerleading team, Breanna is on track to obtain his degree during the spring of 2026.

Q. What does it mean to be voted Athlete of the Month by your teammates? 
A. It feels good to know my teammates recognize my hard work. I just want to keep pushing myself to get better every time I come to practice to make my teammates and coach proud of me. 

Q. As a freshmen, how does it make you feel to win an award like this?
A. It makes me feel appreciated. I really feel like we are more like a family than we are just teammates so it feels good to be appreciated by family.
