`Runners Sweep UC Santa Cruz on Senior Day

Bakersfield, Calif. – the CSUB Swimming and Diving teams celebrated senior day in style, rolling past visiting UC Santa Cruz in dual meet competition. The Roadrunners swept all 32 swimming events and won all four diving events as the CSUB men and women each topped 200 points for the meet.

"We moved a number of our swimmers around today and everyone delivered," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "We had a great meet and it was a great way to send off our senior swimmers."

Three seniors posted individual victories in their Hillman Aquatic Center finales. Noah Hultner and Richie Campbell nabbed wins for the `Runner men in the 1000 Free and the 100 Free, respectively, while Maddie Cosgrove took the 200 Fly for the CSUB women.

Hultner out lasted the field in a time of 9:50.19 to earn his second win in the event this season and the ninth of his career. Alex Rodriguez posted a 9:53.76 to give CSUB dominating one-two finish in the event.

Campbell posted a 47.48 to take the 100 Free, leading the `Runners to a sweep of the top-four places in the event. Noah Hickman finished second in 47.93, while senior Michael Hart took third with a time of 48.80.

All told 17 different Roadrunners won individual events in the meet. Autumn D'Arcy led the way with three victories, while Alex Dragan, Benji Duenas, Loren Gillilan, Mikayla Popham and Ariane Skeggs each clocked two first-place finishes.

D'Arcy opened her meet posting a time of 2:06.27 in the 200 Fly to win the event for the second time this season. Her win in the 100 Free (52.58) was her sixth straight victory in the event, while her win in the 200 IM (2:09.84) was her first of the season. D'Arcy's three wins give her 20 for the season, matching her freshman total from a season ago.
