Biography
2021-22: Posted five Top-10 finishes, including a win in the 200 Backstroke (1:53.06) against Pomona-Pitzer...Set personal best times in the 50 Freestyle (21.28), 50 Backstroke (23.96) and 200 Backstroke (1:50.14)...Added a 2nd-place finish in the 100 Back against PPU...Placed 3rd in both Backstroke disciplines against Pacific...Finished 18th in the 100 Backstroke and 17th in the 200 Backstroke at the MPSF Championship Meet.
2020-21: Team did not compete due to COVID-19.
2019-20: Posted 12 top-10 finishes, including a win in the 100 Back (52.44) in a dual meet with UC Santa Cruz...Added second-place finishes in the 200 Back (1:56.13) and the 200 IM (2:00.95) against the Banana Slugs...Second in the 100 Back (52.59) and the 200 Back (1:54.51) in season's finale dual at Fresno Pacific...Swam the 100 Back (19th), the 200 Back (21st) and the 200 IM at the WAC Championship meet in Houston, Tex.
2018-19: Competed primarily in the 100 and 200 back...had eight top-10 finishes on the season...set a new career-best of 52.25 at the WAC Championships in the 100 back...produced a personal-best of 1:52.22 in the 200 back at the WAC Championships.
2017-18: Competed in seven meets and mostly in 100 and 200 back, but also swam 100 and 200 fly and 50 free…posted season-best time of 52.67 in 100 back at UC Santa Cruz dual on Jan. 27…season-best in 200 back (1:53.59) came against UC Santa Cruz…other season-bests: 100 fly (53.46), 200 fly (2:02.69), 50 free (22.45).
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of Liberty High School in Bakersfield, Calif...coach was Marc Urmston…named Team MVP…helped Patriots win SSYL Championships…also competed for Roadrunner Aquatics club.
PERSONAL: Born July 10, 1999...son of Julio Alcantar and Katherine Eastman…psychology major…born in Davis, Calif.
