Roadrunners Look for Consistency in Week 4

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – For most teams in the country it's tough to win on the road, but not for the CSU Bakersfield women's soccer team. The Roadrunners are one of a few teams left with an undefeated road record but at home they're in the lower quadrant percentile at twenty-five percent.

This weekend yields another opportunity for CSUB to not only win on the road but at home too. Cal State Northridge welcomes CSUB to their home field tonight as the Matadors look to improve on a three-game unbeaten streak before Bakersfield hosts Incarnate Word for the first time on Sunday.

Bakersfield enters the fourth week of the 2019 season with a 3-3 mark. Junior striker Eszter Toth leads the team in scoring with three goals on the year, a single-season career high while redshirt senior Aryana Harvey has recorded three assists – the most on the team.

CSUN leads the all-time series. The Matadors close a four-game home stand this weekend, are riding a home shutout win over Eastern Washington, and boast a seventy-five percent win ratio at home.

Bakersfield and the Cardinals don't have any history on the pitch. A win for CSUB on their own turf is essential at this point in the season. Incarnate Word is a great opponent for the Roadrunners to get back on track at Main Soccer Field.

"We are excited to get back on the field," said head coach Sebastian Vecchio, "and we look forward to being more consistent for 90 minutes and in back to back games!"
