BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield wrestling team will welcome PAC-12 rival Cal Poly to the Icardo Center on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
The Roadrunners wrestling team is coming off a tough home loss to No. 8 Arizona State last week, but CSUB had more than a few bright spots despite losing to a Top 10 team.
Matt Williams,
Sergio Mendez,
Sean Nickell and
Russell Rohlfing all were victorious for the `Runners against the nationally ranked Sun Devils.
Last season, the `Runners traveled to Cal Poly and lost a hard fought dual, 21-18.
Manny Rivera, CSUB Wrestling Head Coach, was asked about the upcoming meet against the Mustangs and Coach Rivera said, "We want to build off of our performance from last week. Cal Poly is a tough team and we need to be at our best to have a successful showing against them."
