California State University at Bakersfield Athletics

2019-20 (R-SENIOR): Finished the season 7-4 after competing in three tournaments for CSUB...Collected five wins at the California Collegiate to place third at 285 pounds...Won three times by fall and once via major decision. 

2018-19 (R-JUNIOR): Produced a 2-2 record at the Roadrunner Open and suffered a season-ending injury in his fourth match of the day...earned victories over California Baptist's Jonathan Zhang and Cal Poly's Seville Hayes.  

2017-18 (R-SOPHOMORE): Went 5-0 and took first place at the Menlo Invitational in the 285 weight class...earned an overtime victory in opening match of Reno Tournament of Champions...finished the season at 10-5.

2016-17 (R-FRESHMAN): Began season with a second place showing at the San Francisco State U-21 Open...a 3-3 record at the Roadrunner Open resulted in a sixth place finish...was 3-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions...started three duals and was 0-3....wrapped up season with a 7-9 record.

2015-16 (REDSHIRT): Sat out as a redshirt in the CSU Bakersfield program...Went 11-13 in open competition...was the runner-up at the Menlo Invitational...finished third at the San Francisco State Open and fourth at the California Open...placed sixth at the Wisconsin Open.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2015 graduate of Woodcreek High School...coaches were Byron Miller and Gene Burris...a three-time league and a three-time divisional champion...after winning the 2014 sectional championship, went on to place sixth at the 2014 state tournament...a two-time scholar athlete award winner and a two-time academic merit award winner...awarded Sacramento links and Dave Schellhouse scholarships...earned first team All-League honors for the Woodcreek football team.

PERSONAL: Born Oct. 25, 1996...son of Brandi Balmer...a kinesiology major.
