CSUB Travels To Arizona State This Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—With its Western Athletic Conference bye week coming up, CSU Bakersfield heads to Phoenix, Ariz. this weekend for a three-game series against Arizona State.

Friday and Saturday's games will begin at 6:30 p.m. before the series finale gets underway at 12:30 p.m. Game one and game three of the series will be streamed on Twitter.com via Pac-12 Plus. Game two is scheduled to be available on Pac12.com

Arizona State is 16-19 after dropping a 13-12 decision at UNLV Tuesday night. Lyle Lin is the team leader in batting (.349) and RBI's (20). Tyler Williams has hit a team leading five home runs.

CSUB leads the all-time series against ASU 2-1. The team split a pair of games during the 2015 season the last time that the clubs got together.

Coming off a 10-2 loss to Cal Poly Tuesday night, the Roadrunners are 19-13. David Metzgar extended his hitting streak to 15 with a double against the Mustangs. His hit extended his consecutive on-base streak to 29, the second longest in school history. Ryan Grotjohn recorded his 17th multi-hit game of the year (in 32 starts) against Cal Poly as he was 2-for-4. He enters this weekend with a .452 batting average, the second highest in Division I.
