BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team will host the Utah Valley Wolverines Saturday at 7 p.m., ending their three-game home stand.

The last time these teams confronted each other, the Roadrunners were able to defeat the Wolverines, 78-74, in Orem, Utah. Playing their last game at home before hitting the road, the 'Runners, who hold a Western Athletic Conference record of 7-2 and are currently in second place, will try to repeat their success on the road with a victory in the Icardo Center.

“They're one of those teams, offensively they're very good and they've got guys on the perimeter that are a little harder to guard than some other teams,” said CSUB head coach Rod Barnes. “They keep you stretched out and that's the thing we have to be concerned with this week, making sure that we play really great defensively.”

Utah Valley sits on a WAC record of 4-5, which currently has them in fifth place in the WAC. Saturday will mark the 13th time that the Wolverines and CSUB meet, with the 'Runners holding an 8-4 lead in the all-time series. Damiyne Durham led CSUB with 18 points in the first game against the Wolverines which included a 5-of-9 mark from three-point range.

Jaden Jackson leads the Wolverines in scoring with 14.5 points per game, while the 'Runners have Aly Ahmed with an equal 14.5 points per game as well. UVU is second in the WAC in offense averaging 76.3 points per contest. The Roadrunners lead the WAC in scoring defense allowing a conference-low 64.2 points per game.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at the Icardo Center and the game will be also broadcast live on Newstalk 1180 and 96.1 FM KERN. The game will also be televised live on the American Sports Network and can be seen in Bakersfield on Channel 240 on Bright House (ThisTV), KBFX 58.2, Channel 432 (DISH), and Channel 640 (Direct TV).
