Jessamy Earns All-Big West Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced its annual major awards Tuesday evening and Cal State Bakersfield’s Ronald Jessamy's outstanding season was recognized by the league’s coaches. The Roadrunner forward was named to the All-Big West Honorable Mention team.

Jessamy put together the best year of his collegiate career, averaging career highs with 13.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game. No Roadrunner has averaged 10+ points and 5+ rebounds since Antavion Collum in 2022-23, who also received Big West All-Conference Honorable Mention that same year. The transfer from Tennessee State University, had 11 games scoring fifteen points or more and had six double doubles on the year. Jessamy had the most double doubles in a single season since 2015-16.

The Philadelphia native had the highest single-game scoring output in the Big West conference following his 40-point outburst versus UC San Diego on February 26th. Jessamy was 14-21 from the field and 12-14 from the free throw line, pulling down nine rebounds, dishing out two assists, and recording one block. Blocks were a constant theme for the big man this year, recording 56 of them which etched him into the CSUB Men's Basketball record books as he sits third all-time. He also tied the most blocks in a single-game (6) since Justin Hollins at Seattle U on January 1, 2016.

Jessamy continues the trend for Bakersfield Men's Basketball earning All-Conference honors as CSUB has produced at least one since entering the Big West Conference, and since turning DI.
