Cal State Bakersfield Head Men’s Basketball Coach Todd Lee has hit the ground running as he sets out on his quest to lead the Roadrunners. Ahead of the 2026-27 season, Lee is adding Chris Crevelone and Eddie Hill to his coaching staff while retaining CSUB alum and assistant coach Brent Wrapp, crucial steps toward rebuilding the CSUB program.

Lee, who previously coached in The Big West for eight seasons, welcomes a group of coaches with similar experience with the league, a huge asset in his estimation: “I really like the different qualities and talents that each coach brings to our program,” Lee said. “Eddie has been an Associate Head Coach in The Big West, Chris has also coached in The Big West at CSUB and brings great experience as well.  Brent was a really good player here at CSUB on some very successful teams.”

“All of our coaches are first and foremost really good people,” Lee continued, “that care about developing young men on and off the court. They also really love being a part of this great community and believe in the potential and championship tradition of our program. They all have coached in the league for multiple years and know what it takes to be successful in The Big West.”

Crevelone returns to CSUB after previously serving on the Roadrunners’ coaching staff under Rod Barnes from 2020 to 2024. During his time in Bakersfield, he played a key role in recruiting and player development, helping the program produce five All-Conference selections and multiple Academic All-Conference honorees.

Crevelone brings extensive Division I coaching experience to the Roadrunners. Prior to his first stint at CSUB, he spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at Grand Canyon University, where he coached alongside Lee, helping guide the Lopes to multiple 20-win seasons and success in the Western Athletic Conference. 

He also gained experience at the University of Texas, working in video operations while assisting with scouting and recruiting efforts as part of a program that reached three NCAA Tournaments during his tenure. During his four years in Austin, the Longhorns advanced to three NCAA tournaments and posted an 88-50 (.638) overall record. Texas registered a 28-8 record and advanced to the NCAA third round in 2010-11. The 2009-10 Longhorns squad became the first in program history to be the top-ranked team in either national poll. Texas held the No. 1 spot in both polls for a two-week stretch.

Crevelone worked with six NBA Draft picks during his four seasons in Texas, including five first-round selections and one lottery pick: 2011 – Tristan Thompson (4), Jordan Hamilton (26), Cory Joseph (29); 2010 – Avery Bradley (19), Damion James (24), Dexter Pittman (32).

“Chris and I worked together at Grand Canyon University,” Lee added, “so we know each other's strengths and we work really well together. Chris and his wife Emily have lived in Bakersfield for six years and they really love living here and raising their three children in this great community. Chris has a great work ethic, is a tireless recruiter and a really good person. He is also good at working with and developing players.”

With over 30 years of success in the basketball and recruiting worlds, Eddie Hill joins that Cal State Bakersfield program with great familiarity with The Big West. Last season, Hill served as the Associate Head Coach for Campbell University, guiding the Fighting Camels to the CAA semifinals after signing leading scorer and First Team All-Conference honoree DJ Smith.

Hill spent the three seasons prior as the Associate Head Coach for UC Riverside, managing all aspects of program development. His efforts helped the Highlanders achieve a school-record 22 wins in 2023 and 21 wins in 2025 with a school record 14 Big West wins in both seasons. Under his tenure as Associate Head Coach, the program earned major conference accolades, including 2023 Big West Coach of the Year honors for Head Coach Mike Magpayo and Freshman of the Year awards for Lachlan Olbrich (2023) and Barrington Hargress (2024). Hill also helped develop several players who went on to sign professional contracts, including Zyon Pullin (NBA), Flynn Cameron, Lachlan Olbrich, and Ben Griscti (all NBL).

Hill also served the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach at the University of South Dakota under Todd Lee, where he helped guide the Yotes to a 19-12 record. The stint in Vermillion, S.D. marked a return to the NCAA as he spent the previous 20 years working in a variety of areas of the basketball world.

From 2019-2022, Hill was the Head Coach of ProSkills Basketball, a 17U Nike EYBL team where he developed NBA players Cason Wallace (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Micah Peavy (New Orleans Pelicans). The year prior, he was the Head Coach/General Manager of a brand new ABA squad, the Plano Mighty Kings. As the Owner/Founder of 2inspire Recruiting Ltd/Kaye Bassman International, Hill ran the day-to-day operations of his global executive recruiting firm from 2002-2021, executing senior-level executive recruitment of candidates for organizations across the USA, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Hill began his coaching career at the University of Portland, which began a seven-year span working with NCAA programs from the West Coast as well as UTEP.

“Eddie was my assistant coach at University of South Dakota,” said Lee, “so we know each other really well and have a great relationship. Eddie played at Washington State for Coach Kelvin Sampson and grew up in the Los Angeles area. He also has a great work ethic, recruiting and being in the gym with our guys. He was at UC Riverside as Associate Head Coach just a couple of years ago and they were very successful for a number of years he was there.”

Todd Lee has decided to retain Brent Wrapp, a CSUB alumnus who is closing in on a decade of coaching experience with the `Runners.

In 2018, Wrapp tied a bow on a storied career during which he led CSUB to its first NCAA Tournament appearance at the Division I level (2015-16), guided the `Runners to their first WAC Regular Season title and the NIT Semifinal in Madison Square Garden (2016-17), and tied Bakersfield’s all-time career assists record (520, Kenny Warren).

Following his time as a `Runner student-athlete, Wrapp jumped straight into the CSUB coaching staff, serving five years as the Director of Basketball Operations before being promoted to an assistant coach heading into the 2023-24 season.

“Brent brings a great perspective, having been a really good player here at CSUB,” Lee said. “He has been in Bakersfield for 12 years now and really loves CSUB and this community. Brent has the record for all time assists at CSUB and played on some very good teams. He is also really good at player development, which is the cornerstone of our program.”
