CSUB To Host NCA Camp Aug. 8-10

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield Spirit Squad will host a National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Camp Aug. 8-10. The camp will be held in CSUB's Student Recreation Center.

The camp will feature a NCA Staff that is handpicked from leading colleges and universities across the nation.  The staff is AACCA Safety Certified and is trained in the latest techniques, knowledgeable about concussions awareness, and completed Maltreatment Course's. Each staff member is trained in safety awareness, spotting safety, and skill progression. There is no better mentor than an NCA Instructor.

Coaches attending will receive the NCA Coaches Resource Pack which includes the Coaches Manual, NCA Credentialing Exam, Coaches DVD, Spirit Book, and Camp Curriculum DVD which is all included in the Coaches Fee.

The camp will offer core stunt classes, innovative transitions, dismounts, and unique creative pyramids at all levels. The NCA sets the standard for safety with specific safety classes that provide hands-on training for the entire team. Teams learn proper safety techniques to ensure safe practice and performance all year long.

NCA Staff conducts skill checks to direct team members to the stunt class that is right for them. Stunts are taught in progression and drills are emphasized to ensure proper technique. Teams at camp even take part in Safety Awareness Test to reinforce the importance of safety and new regulations.

The CSUB Spirit Squad will perform during the camp as well. For more information contact Ashley Paradise, NCA State Director, at 855-292-4466.
