through the rain, Fresno
State (10-9) defeated CSU
Bakersfield (7-11) 5-0 Sunday afternoon.
Coming off a postponement Saturday due to the weather, an
Austin Wynns sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second scored Kenny Wise to
give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Aaron Judge and Wynns each posted RBI doubles in
the fourth to give Fresno
State a 3-0 advantage.
The Roadrunners loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. Kevin
Younger (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) popped out to second for
out No. 2, bringing up Oscar Sanay (So., Chula
Vista, Calif., Bonita
Vista HS) who flew out to right to end the inning.
The Bulldogs added two runs in the sixth. CSUB stranded nine
runners (five in scording position) on Sunday, bringing the two-game total to 20
for the weekend.
Jordie Hein (Fr., Scottsdale,
Ariz., Chapparal HS) and Stuart Smith (R-Jr., Vista, Calif.,
Buena HS) each had two hits for CSUB. Wise and Jordan Luplow both had recorded
two hits for the Bulldogs.
The Roadrunners conclude the first of two 10-game road trips
next weekend at Washington
beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
