McIntyre Leads CSUB Past Santa Clara 7-2

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--Ryan McIntyre (Jr., Henderson, Nev., Coronado HS) went 4-for-5 with two RBI's as CSUB defeated Santa Clara Apr. 3 at Schott Stadium. McIntyre hit .563 (9-of-16) in the three-game series against the Broncos as the Roadrunners improved to 20-7 on the season.  Santa Clara fell to 12-13.

Andrew Letourneau (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College) posted three hits (3-for-5) as CSUB posted 15 hits. DC Legg (Jr., Murrietta, Calif., Cypress College) was 2-for-4 with two RBI's while Kevin Younger (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Tommy Hoenshell (Jr., Orange County, Calif., Cypress College) recorded his second complete game of the season in picking up his fifth win. Hohenshell scattered eight hits. The 6-6 righthander threw 105 pitches, 71 for strikes.

CSUB faces Cal State Northridge in a split three-game series next weekend. The Roadrunners travel to the Matadors on Friday for a 3 p.m. start. Northridge heads to Bakersfield for a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's first pitch is set for 6 p.m. while Sunday's action gets underway at 1 p.m.
