BAKERSFIELD,
Calif.-CSUB (22-7) handed Cal State
Northridge (15-16) a 13-3 defeat Apr. 9 at Hardt Field.
Andrew Letourneau's (Jr., Bakersfield,
Calif., Bakersfield College) two-RBI single in
the bottom of the third highlighted a three-run CSUB rally. Ryan McIntyre (Jr.,
Henderson, Nev., Coronado HS) added to the 'Runner
advantage with a two-run home run in the fourth.
Marty Bowen's single plated Justin DeMarco to get the
Matadors on the board in the fifth. Steven
Keller's RBI double in the seventh scored Ridge Carpenter to make it 5-2.
Bowen's fourth hit of the night drove in Keller to cut the CSUB lead to two. The
Roadrunners sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the seventh as CSUB
scored eight runs in the inning to blow the game open.
Letourneau was 3-for-4 with three RBI's. Tyler Shryock (Fr.,
Tehachapi, Calif., Desert Christian HS) went 3-for-4
with two runs scored and a RBI. Jeremy Rodriguez (Jr., Thousand Oaks, Calif.,
Crespi HS) was 3-for-5 with two RBI's.
Jonathan Montoya (Jr., Chino
Hills, Calif., Chino
Hills HS) recorded his fifth complete game of the year. The 5-7 lefty scattered
eight hits and struck six.
The series concludes Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Hardt
Field.
