LONG
BEACH, Calif.-Chad McKenzie (Sr., Durbin, South Africa, Limestone College) tied
his own school record in the 100 breaststroke at the Pac-10 Last Chance Meet
Mar. 6 at the Belmond Olympic Pool.
McKenzie
swam :54.30 in the event for the second consecutive week (last at MPSF's Feb.
26) to place third. The Roadrunners sent
two other racers; Matt Parsonage (Sr., Durbin, South Africa, Limestone College)
and Luka Leskur (Sr., Split, Croatia, Technical School Split) to the event.
Parsonage
was sixth in the 100 breaststroke in a time of :55.32. Leskur finished second
in the 100 backstroke (:49.43).
"I
was very happy with Chad's performance today," said CSUB Head Coach Chris
Hansen. "Its a waiting game to see who advances to nationals."
The
announcement of who will compete at the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming
Championships will be made Thursday, Mar. 9.
