BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-In the first ever night baseball game at Hardt
Field, CSUB (17-5) defeated Ohio
State (6-9) 13-2 Mar. 24.
With the game tied at two after three innings, the
Roadrunners scored one run in the fourth, three in the fifth, four in the sixth,
and three in the seventh.
Andrew Letourneau (Jr., Bakersfield,
Calif., Bakersfield
College) and Kevin Younger (So., Bakersfield, Calif.,
Liberty HS) paced the Roadrunners as the pair combined for six RBI's (three
each). Ryan McIntyre (Jr., Henderson,
Nev., Coronado HS) went 3-for-4
with three runs scored. DC Legg (Jr., Murrietta,
Calif., Cypress College)
had two hits, two runs, and two RBI's.
Jeremy Rodriguez (Jr., Thousand
Oaks, Calif., Crespi
HS) walked three times, tying the school record (with four others) for most
walks in a game. Martin Medina (Jr., Ventura,
Calif., St.Bonaventure HS) hit
his team leading fourth home run in the fourth inning
Mike McCarthy (R-Sr., Brentwood, Calif., Univ.
of Redlands) picked up
the win on the hill. McCarthy went eight innings and allowed six hits. The 6-3
righty struck out nine. Both of the runs McCarthy allowed were unearned.
