BOZEMAN,
Mont. - The CSUB volleyball
team added injury to insult Monday night as Montana State completed a series
sweep with a 25-21, 25-19, 25-17 win in Shroyer Gym.
Already
playing without their top defensive player - libero Lauren Holderman suffered a season ending shoulder injury earlier
this month - the Roadrunners lost their two best attackers Monday as well.
Outside hitter Lindy DeGeare missed
Monday's match due to illness while middle blocker Alysia Baker left midway through the match after injuring her hand.
To
make matters even worse, freshman outside hitter Hannah Fortin injured her ankle in practice on Sunday, leaving CSUB
with only one middle blocker and no front row reserve players to finish Monday's
match.
CSUB
broke its pattern of starting matches slowly, hanging with the Bobcats until
falling at the end of the first set. But the Roadrunners followed the new model
in all three sets Monday night, allowing Montana State to escape late for all
three set wins.
Haleigh
Haratyk led CSUB with seven kills while Tika Smith chipped in six. Bakersfield College transfer Brookey Holmes had a season-high four
kills in just one set of action.
CSUB
returns to California to take on UC Riverside Saturday in Riverside.
