Another Strong Performance for the CSUB Men's Swimming Team

STOCKTON, Calif. — The CSUB men's swim team produced another strong performance as it won a dual meet against Seattle University and University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. on Saturday. With the win, CSUB improves to 4-0 on the season.

CSUB swept the meet by beating Seattle 171-91 and Pacific 158- 103.5.

The 'Runners' outstanding team performance was highlighted by senior Chad McKenzie and freshman Evan Vizcarra. McKenzie won three individual events on the day including the 100 breaststroke (57.24), the 200 breaststroke (2:07.65) and the 200 I.M (1:54.17) while Vizcarra won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9.41.63, marking a personal best.

Senior Jay Jones and Vizcarra went one and two in the 200 butterfly with times of 1.54.83 and 1.57.54, respectively, while senior Matt Parsonage (51.33) and Jones (52.36) completed the same task in the 100 butterfly.

Junior Joao Foresto won the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.78 while fellow classmate Chris Pipes finished right behind him with a time of 47.14. Senior Luka Leskur also claimed the 100 backstroke individual event with a time of 52.37

In all, CSUB won eight of the 12 events.

“We swam fantastic today,” Head Coach Chris Hansen said. “It is great to be heading into Arizona State 4-0.”

The Roadrunners head to Los Angeles, Calif. on Friday, November 12, to take on Pac-10 powerhouse, Arizona State.
