IRVINE, Calif. - Cal State Bakersfield's Cynthia Ramirez was named the Big West Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Roadrunners to a victory over UC San Diego.

This is Ramirez’s first Player of the Week nod and the first by a `Runner since Natalie O’Sullivan took home the award on Sept. 1.

Ramirez provided the decisive moment in Bakersfield’s lone match this week, striking for the game-winning goal in the 31st minute. The senior tallied her team-high third goal of the season to push the Roadrunners to a 1-0 victory over UC San Diego.

The goal helped extend CSUB’s momentum as Bakersfield has now earned victories in four of its last five matches, going unbeaten in the streak (4-0-1). Ramirez’s finish continued her strong season form and gave the `Runners an important road win to kick off Big West play.
