ANAHEIM, Calif. - Rowdy the Mascot competed in the 2025 United Spirit Association Collegiate Nationals for the first time in program history held in Anaheim, CA. 

Showcasing his skills as storytelling through pantomime, use of props and music. Rowdy took the floor on February 15th and 16th to perform in front a live crowd and a panel of judges. Competing in the Collegiate Mascot division, Rowdy told a story of his "First Day of School". Taking the crowd through an entertaining story where he demonstrated visiting clubs such as the science , art and sports clubs before deciding on becoming the official CSUB mascot. 

At the conclusion of the two-day competition, Rowdy was crowded the 2025 USA National Champion for Collegiate Mascots. The first National title for the CSU Bakersfield Mascot program. When asked what he thought about Rowdy winning a national title " I'm super proud of him today. Being a (CSUB) freshmen, you never know how someone will react in the moment. He put in the work to get to where he is tonight, a CHAMPION!" said head coach, Arthur Smith
