`Runners Score Equalizer with 11 Seconds Remaining

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Trailing UC Irvine at scores of 1-0 and 2-1, the Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer team battled back to earn a vital draw in Wednesday's thrilling finish. Forward Rashaad Ogun flicked home an athletic header with 11 seconds remaining in the game to tie the score at 2-2 as the Roadrunners remained unbeaten in Big West play (2-0-1) in exciting fashion.

Visiting UC Irvine scored an early goal to take a 1-0 just 15 minutes into the contest. After going to halftime with the 1-0 score, Bakersfield needed less than 10 minutes in the second half to find the equalizer. Freshman Jacob Bernauer slotted home his first goal as a `Runner to tie the score 1-1.

In the 81st minute, the Anteaters drew a penalty kick after a handball in the box by the `Runners. The kick was true and sent UCI ahead once again, 2-1. In the final moments, Bakersfield continued to pressure and finally, with 11 seconds left on the clock, Rashaad Ogun headed home the equalizer to steal a point for the league standings.
