IRVINE, Calif. - Cal State Bakersfield's Zenden Hart was voted the Big West Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Roadrunners to a pair of road shutouts last week.

This is Hart's first Player of the Week nod since his freshman year while he was still competing for St. John's University, and it is the first by a `Runner this season.

Last week, Hart led Cal State Bakersfield to a pair of road shutouts to open Big West play. Bakersfield's goalkeeper tallied three saves at Sacramento State Wednesday evening as the Roadrunners downed the Hornets 1-0 on their home pitch. In Saturday's clash at red-hot CSUN (6-1-3 coming into the game), Hart tallied a season-high five saves as Bakersfield picked up another 1-0 road victory. Hart's leadership and effort helped CSUB tie for first place in The Big West standings after one week of league play.
