Barnes and Staff Make First Splash of Offseason

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2024-25 Cal State Bakersfield men's basketball roster has begun to fill out as Rod Barnes, Head Coach of the Roadrunners, made the team’s first splash of the offseason with the addition of Shakiru Odunewu.

Head Coach Rod Barnes on what Shakiru Odunewu will bring to the 2024-25 Roadrunners:

“We are extremely excited about the addition of ‘Shaq’! With the loss of two of our post guys, we need help up front and Shaq provides that… He brings an inside presence with both an offensive skillset and offensive rebounding ability. He is a willing passer and very good at the free throw line.” Barnes added, “When he visited us it just felt right with our coaches and players. Shaq will impact us both on and off the floor. Let’s welcome him to the `Runner Family!”
