BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield women's soccer continued its record-breaking season with a 2-0 victory over Cal Poly on Sunday, moving up to 3rd place in the Big West standings. The win marked CSUB’s highest point total ever in Big West Conference play, now standing at 14 points and counting, as well as the most wins in conference play in program history.
Kimberly Garcia opened the scoring for the Roadrunners in the 47th minute, giving the team early momentum. In the second half, Paige Rodriguez delivered a stunning Olimpico goal directly from a corner kick in the 62nd minute, marking her first goal of the season and securing the win for CSUB. Cal Poly managed to pull one back late, but the Roadrunners held firm to claim the victory.
CSUB will look to build on this historic season as they continue their push for postseason success.
