Sivec Posts US Open Cut in 200 Free

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Day 2 of the TYR Pro Swim Series saw CSU Bakersfield freshman Vili Sivec swim even faster than his solid performance from Thursday. During Friday's 200 freestyle swims, Sivec established himself as an athlete to watch, posting a US Open cut on the way to his second-straight finals and another CSUB record.

Notables

Sivec started Friday's competition with a CSUB Long Course record in the 200 free (1:51.92).
The freshman went on to place 15th in the finals, shaving off nearly a second with a time of 1:51.15, which has earned him a spot at the US Open in Greensboro, N.C. next winter.
Fellow freshman Arthur Schneider also competed in the 200 free, posting a solid swim of 1:54.38.
