Meet CSUB Baseball 2023: Pitchers

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The start of the 2023 Cal State Bakersfield baseball season is just around the corner, and sixth-year head coach Jeremy Beard continues working hard with his Roadrunners in preparation for the upcoming year. Ahead of the start of the season, we want to introduce the 2023 edition of the `Runners to fans.

Today marks the fourth, and final, part of a four-part series breaking down Beard's squad, position by position. Last week, we introduced the CSUB Baseball catchers, but now we want you to meet the `Runner pitchers.

Adding a host of quality newcomers to a group of talented young returnees gives us depth and a group of guys that like to compete. `Runner Outfielders

#6 Carter Parcher
- Junior in his second season with the `Runners
- Transferred to CSUB from Skagit Valley CC (Mount Vernon, Wash.)
- From Lynden, Wash., went to Lynden HS
- Right-hander expected to compete in bullpen
- Appeared in only five games on mound, making no starts
- Allowed just one hit in first three appearances vs Oakland, Utah, and UC Riverside
- Finished 2022 with 3.2 innings pitched, 2 strikeouts, and 12.27 ERA
#7 Davonté Butler
- Graduate student in his sixth season with the `Runners
- From Hollister, Calif., went to San Benito HS
- Appeared in three games with two starts in 2022
- Right-hander expected to regularly play out of bullpen
- Pitched 7.1 innings and fanned seven batters with 3.68 ERA
- Against Cal Baptist, pitched five innings while striking out five
- Moved into 10th all-time for CSUB D1 appearances (54 games)
#12 Ryan Figueroa
- Junior in his first season with the `Runners
- Transferred to CSUB from South Mountain CC (Tempe, Ariz.)
- From Chandler, Ariz., went to Hamilton HS
- In 2022, played 14 games, starting 11 on the mound
- Held 7-2 record with 4.09 ERA and 75 strikeouts
- Right-hander expected to compete in bullpen
- Played for Trenton Thunder (MLB Draft League) in summer 2022
- Maintained 4.0 GPA during two seasons at South Mountain CC
#13 Trevon Crowley
- Junior in his first season with the `Runners
- Transferred to CSUB from Modesto CC
- From Newman, Calif., went to Hilmar HS
- Right-hander expected to compete in bullpen
- Played for Fresno State in 2021
- Relief pitched eight games for 8.2 innings as true freshman
- In 2021, posted four strikeouts and 12.46 ERA

#14 Trevor Pruitt
- Senior in his first season with the `Runners
- Transferred to CSUB from UT-Arlington
- From Peoria, Ariz., went to Sunrise Mountain High School

- Through four seasons at UTA, pitched 30.1 innings through 24 appearances
- In 2022, posted 1-0 in 18.0 innings in relief for 5.50 ERA
- Fanned five hitters at Texas A&M through 3.0 innings in 2022
#16 Gabe Ulloa
- Junior in his second season with the `Runners

- Appeared in 21 games, all in relief, for `Runners in 2022
- Posted 3-1 record with 7.83 ERA

#28 Taylor Ott
- Senior in his second season with the `Runners
- Transferred to CSUB from Linn-Benton CC (Albany, Ore.)
- From Tigard, Ore., went to Tigard Senior HS
- Played one season for Oregon State before transferring to LBCC
