Big West Announces 2023-24 Women's Soccer Awards

IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced the 2023 Women's Soccer major awards and All-Conference Teams on Saturday afternoon, and Cal State Bakersfield was represented by two veterans in the mix of the league's top student-athletes. Head Coach Bernardo Silva is proud to see Penny Smith and Dome Rodriguez being named to the All-Big West Honorable Mentions list.

This was Penny Smith's second straight year receiving an Honorable Mention nod for the All-Conference teams. Yet again, Smith led Bakersfield in minutes played with 1,391, also co-leading the team with two assists. On top of all that, she started all 17 matches this year, rounding out her CSUB career having played and started every possible game in her two years as a `Runner.

Dome Rodriguez capped off her CSUB career in fantastic fashion, scoring a penalty kick goal in her final match and taking the team-lead for goals on the season with three. The Ecuadorian senior international finished her career as a `Runner having amassed 73 matches and over 4,500 minutes, finally nabbing her first well-deserved conference athletic award.
