CSUB Represents Well at Fresno State Invitational

Final Results

CLOVIS, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield men and women's track and field wrapped up a two-day meet in Clovis with plenty to be proud of. The Roadrunners found success in many different events up against a deep and talented pool of athletes at the Fresno State Invitational.

Bakersfield had a great start at the Fresno Invitational on Friday. Men's hammer had three finish Top 8 led by Jacob Whitby's fifth place and career high mark moving him to eighth all-time in school history. Hugo Santana was the next best finisher in the event while Thomas Richardson threw for eighth.

Miranda Miller was the top collegiate finisher placing second overall in pole vault while clearing over 4.0m for the eighth time this year. Miller went bar for bar with former two-time NCAA champion and All American, Olivia Gruver, and continues to hold the best mark in the Big West this season.

Curtis Threlkeld finished fifth in the invitational section of the 800m.

Riley Slayton paced the Roadrunners in the 400H with a time of 1:00.33, seventh fastest at the meet. It was a personal record for Slayton who out hurdled all Big West competitors in the event. She ranks second in the conference and all-time at CSUB.

Evan Vigrass threw a personal best in javelin on Saturday placing ninth in a deep men's field. He passed a pair of all-time throwers and now ranks 15th at CSUB.

Bradley Bryant finished ninth in triple jump.

Other highlights (CSUB depth chart marks): Julia Stein ran 14.53 in 100H, 8th all-time; Mariah LeSure ran 24.98 in 200m, 17th all-time; Jordan Retzloff ran 12.26 in 100m, 16th all-time; Nerissa Thompson ran 12.30 in 100m, 20th all-time; Jatzyn Greer ran 15.04 in 100H, tied 17th all-time; Neyda Martinez, 2:22.13, 19th all-time.
