- The Cal State Bakersfield’s track and field team competed in three different meets across two days.
- The majority of the Roadrunners tackling a meet in La Jolla, Calif.
- CSUB enjoyed several strong results, including individual victories and CSUB Top 20 all-time performances.
Moorpark Open – Friday, Apr. 03
- The Cal State Bakersfield throwers traveled down to Moorpark, Calif. for the Moorpark Open.
- On the men’s side, Javier Toro continued to lead the pack with a first place finish in the men’s hammer throw. His mark of 64.68m (212’02”) was close to his personal best. The Roadrunners swept in the event with a second place finish from Daniel Hartman who marked in a PB. Adam Torres and Tyler Balgeman rounded out the `Runner sweep.
- Toro returned on the field in the shot put where he also placed first overall with a mark of 16.64m (54’07.25”).
- On the women’s side, Grace Padron placed third in the hammer throw after marking a 49.31m (161’09”).
Stanford Invitational – Friday, Apr. 03
- Jacob Yagers was the lone Roadrunner at the Stanford Invitational on Friday evening. The Bakersfield, Calif. native placed third in his heat with a time of 3:44.24.
- The time was his fastest this season and was the third fastest he has ever run.
- Yagers is the school record holder in the event and looks to continue to drop his record time of 3:42.51.
UCSD Triton Invitational – Friday-Saturday, Apr. 03-04
- A majority of the squad headed down to La Jolla, Calif. for the UCSD Triton Invitational.
- The two-day meet had tough competition, but the Roadrunners showed out with multiple top-ten finishes over the weekend.
- Makiah Parker led the way with a third place finish in the women’s 100m and finishing fourth in the 200m.
- Rionna Wallace ran a season best in the women’s 200m with a tenth place finish.
- Emilia Mandela ran a personal best and a CSUB #4 all-time in the women’s 100mH. Her time of 13.87 was good for fourth place. Mandela has now officially qualified for the conference championships later next month.
- Francisco Felix crossed the finish line in 14:45.64 for the men’s 5,000m. Felix finished sixth overall.
- Ivy Miller ran a season best in the women’s 400mH and is now qualified for the Big West Championships.
- Freshman Adeline Rangel ran a personal best in the women’s 400m (57.71). Her time has qualified her for conference.
- Skye Odom finished ninth in the women’s triple jump.
