CSUB Wins 5 Events at Pomona-Pitzer Invite

CLAREMONT, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield men and women's track and field took home five wins Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite. The Roadrunners continue to rise in the right direction as the regular season charges on having contested in seven of the 12 meets scheduled.

Riley Slayton placed first in 400m hurdles (61.61) while Jatzyn Greer finished fourth with a personal best time that moved her up to number 10 all time at CSUB. Jatzyn Greer led the `Runners in the 100m hurdles placing seventh with a time of 15:32.

Miranda Miller won her sixth pole vault event of the season besting all competition at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite. Julianne Finch was next best in Claremont placing second with a personal best mark 3.95m (13-03.50).

Thomas Richardson won shot put for the second time this season. His first attempt went the furthest out throwing the competition by over six feet.

Hugo Santana led a CSUB sweep in hammer throw saving his best throw of the meet for last (57.90m, 189-11). Thomas Richardson finished second in the event while Axel Salazar was third.

Jessi Solis won her first event of the outdoor season in women's hammer throw Saturday reaching 47.96m (157-04) on her fourth attempt.

Mariah LeSure paced the Roadrunners sprinters finishing second in the 100m running the race in 12.04.

Curt Threlkeld was the second fastest runner in the 400m dash. He has now placed first or second in four of seven meets on the year across the 400m, 800m, and 1500m races.

Evan Vigrass was second in the javelin and third in the 400m hurdles to join Thomas Richardson with a pair of Top 3 finishes.

"It was a good day with lot of good performances," said Director of Track & Field, Cross Country Marcia Mansur-Wentworth.
