Men's Soccer adds Three on NLI Signing Day

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A trio of future Roadrunners inked their National Letters of Intent to join the Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer team. On National Signing Day, Bakersfield Head Coach Richie Grant welcomed incoming freshmen Alec Aceves, Ben Erwin, and Pedro Monge-Munoz as future additions to the `Runner roster.

Alec Aceves
  • Hometown: Temecula, Calif.
  • Plays for: Albion SC San Diego
  • Height: 5'8"
  • Position: Defender
  • Team captain of Albion San Diego MLS Next U19.
  • Plans to study Law after his time at CSUB.
  • Grant on Aceves: "Alec is mature and has both the ability and character we want in our program. He will make our back line more competitive, and he has a lot of experience as a left full in the MLS Next league."
Ben Erwin
  • Hometown: Scottsdale, Ariz.
  • Plays for: RSL Arizona
  • Height: 6'1"
  • Position: Defender
  • Played three years of MLS Next; made playoffs first year.
  • Plays for RSL Arizona and previously played for the F.C Dallas Academy.
  • Father played professionally and coached for FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake.
  • Grant on Erin: "Ben is a product of the MLS Next Academy, so he's competed at a high level for a number of years. Ben is a versatile defender and comfortable playing in a couple of positions."
Pedro Monge-Munoz
  • Hometown: Auburn, Wash.
  • Plays for: Pacific Northwest ECNL, Thomas Jefferson High School
  • Height: 6'1"
  • Position: Center Back
  • Two-time MVP for Thomas Jefferson boys soccer
  • Led his high school team in scoring both in 2021 and 2022
  • Three-year captain for Pacific Northwest ECNL
  • Grant on Monge-Munoz: "Pedro is a competitive young man, and he has benefited from his development with Pacific Northwest and their playing style. He's tough and eager to improve."
