Swim & Dive Returns for Dual at Cal Poly

Bakersfield, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield swimming and diving's long layoff got even longer with the cancelation of a dual meet at UC San Diego a weekend ago. After nearly a month out of action, the Roadrunners will return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 8 in a dual meet at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rival Cal Poly, beginning at 1 p.m.

"We raced Cal Poly at the Roadrunner Invitational earlier this season and we're evenly matched," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "This should be a very close meet; we need everyone to step up across our line-up to get the scoring we'll need in an event that could come down to the final relay."

Autumn D'Arcy, Lorena Jerebic and Mikayla Popham lead the `Runner women into Cal Poly, while Ryan Brimer, Loren Gillilan and Kris Rogic have been the top performers on the men's side.

Bakersfield's depth will be tested by a handful of injuries, but CSUB has received strong swims all season from Danielle Albright, Arianne Skeggs, Tim Engle, Tyler LeDet and Antonio Milin.

In the diving well Lauren Carson, Maya Stefanski and Dyson Modica will be counted on for top performances.

The Roadrunner men enter the weekend with a 2-0 record in dual meet swims this season, while the women are 2-1 overall.

WHERE:
Saturday's meet begins at 1 p.m. in San Luis Obispo, Calif., at Cal Poly's Anderson Aquatic Center.
