Box Score MOSCOW, Id.- Career-highs from Brent Wrapp and Justin Pride were not enough for the CSUB Roadrunners who dropped their third-straight game on the road Wednesday night at Idaho 67-63.
Wrapp recorded career-highs in points with 14, rebounds with nine and a three-pointers as he netted 2-2 from beyond the arc, but a 2:43 scoring drought from the 'Runners inside the final six minutes allowed the Vandals to get enough separation to build a late eight-point lead and hold off CSUB.
The Roadrunners trailed by six with just under a minute to play before Damiyne Durham hit a long three-pointer and was fouled on the play. He would sink the free-throw to pull the 'Runners within two with 20 seconds to play. The Vandals however countered remaining baskets from CSUB with made free-throws led by Perrion Callandret who was 12-of-12 from the line while leading all scorers with 26 points.
The 'Runners were led by Wrapp's career-high 14 and 15 from Durham on 5-of-17 from the field and 4-of-14 from three-point range. Aly Ahmed added 13 for the Roadrunners while Pride scored his career-high 11 on 5-of-11 from the field. Jaylin Airington missed the game due to injury.
CSUB put together a pair of runs to build a couple three and four-point leads throughout the game but they were followed by scoring droughts that allowed the Vandals to re-take control. One of those came right before the end of the first half where CSUB led 26-24 before going the final 3:03 without a basket.
The teams traded three-pointers midway through the second half with both Durham and Idaho's Callandret trading shots. Callandret would make the final pair and put Idaho up for good with 8:37 to play.
CSUB returns home on Saturday hosting another Big Sky Conference school in Northern Arizona. Tip off is scheduled for 7 P.M. Tickets are available at Vallitix.com or by calling 654-BLUE.
