BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSU Bakersfield's Christian Duarte and Julian Zamora have been selected All-Conference by a vote of the league's eight coaches released Nov. 11.
Duarte was chosen first All-Conference, marking the third year in a row that the Houston, Texas native has earned the honor. Duarte is second on the Roadrunners in goals (6) and points (14).
Zamora was chosen second team All-Conference. He led CSUB in goals for the second year in a row with eight. He finished the regular season tied for seventh in the WAC in goals scored.
Both are two of 30 men from NCAA Division I schools around the country that have been marked as potential contenders for the 2015 Missouri Athletic Club's (MAC) Hermann Trophy.
The Roadrunners (No. 5 seed) take on Houston Baptist (No. 4 seed) in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament Thursday night in Kansas City, Mo. Kick is set for 7:30 p.m. (CST). The winner of the CSUB-Houston Baptist match takes on the No. 1 seed, Seattle U Friday night at 7 p.m. (CST).
The Roadrunners defeated the Huskies 4-2 Oct. 30 in Houston. CSUB leads the all-time series 4-1-1.
Houston Baptist finished the regular season with a 9-8-1 overall record. HBU tied with UNLV for third in the WAC with 16 points as the Rebels held the tiebreaker for seed in the league tournament. The Huskies are led by Marcelo Acuna who is third in WAC (24) and fourth in the WAC in goals (10).
