BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The Bakersfield baseball team returns home to host Chicago State this weekend. This is the first baseball series between Bakersfield and Chicago State. Friday and Saturday's games will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday's start time has been moved up from 1 p.m. to 12 p.m. to accomodate Chicago State travel.

Chicago State is in the midst of a five-game week. The Cougars lost at home to Notre Dame on Tuesday before defeating crosstown rival UIC Wednesday. Chicago State is 10-18, 0-6 in the WAC entering the weekend. Stanford Hunt leads the Cougars in hitting (.360) Chase Matheson is the only other Chicago State player hitting over .300 (.308). He is the team leader in RBI's (22).

Righhander Eric Hall (2-1) goes against Taylor Aikenhead Friday. Lefty Dane Mehring (0-4) goes Saturday against James Barragan. Sunday's Chicago State starter is to be announced. Austin Davis is the probable 'Runner Sunday starter.
