BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—Oscar Sanay (Sr., Chula Vista, Calif.,
Bonita Vista HS) recorded his fifth career four-hit game as CSU Bakersfield (23-29)
defeated UC Santa Barbara (26-28) 18-8 Friday night.
Sanay went 4-for-5 with four RBI's to lead the 20-hit CSUB
onslaught. Leading 2-0 after one, CSU Bakersfield sent 13 batters to score eight
runs in the bottom of the second inning. CSUB scored four more in the third,
one in the seventh, and one in the eighth.
The 20 hits are the second most in a game in school history. CSUB had 22
hits against Arizona
May 9, 2010.
Andrew Letourneau (Sr., Bakersfield,
Calif., Bakersfield College)
went 3-for-4 with three RBI's and two runs scored. Kevin Younger (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif.,
Liberty HS) posted three hits (3-for-5), a home run, and three RBI's. Jordie
Hein (Fr., Scottsdale, Ariz., Chapparal HS) completed a trio of
Roadrunners with three hits. The CSUB
rightfielder also tied his own school record with three walks to bring his
season total to 33 which is one away from tying Jeremy Rodriguez's school mark
(2010). Hein drove in three runs.
CSUB hosts Utah
Saturday night at 7 p.m. The Utes face
UC Santa Barbara to begin the day at 2 p.m. at Hardt Field.
